The Centre
for Applied Cybernetics provides theoretically and practically
oriented research in the field of automatic control. The head of
the centre is Prof. Ing. Vladimír Kučera, DrSc. The main
project investigators are the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and
the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in
Prague. For more information on the centre visit CAK
homepage.
The working site located in
Technical University in Brno is one of the
four main investigators of the project. The responsible person of
this site is Prof. Ing. Petr Vavřín, DrSc.
The CAK at
the Technical University in Brno is further subdivided into three groups
as follows:
|

|
Artificial
intelligence group
The
main objective is the development and control of mobile robots,
telepresence, robot soccer, the construction of mini-robots and
the development of intelligent manipulators.
Responsible
manager:
Doc. Ing. František Šolc, CSc.
Research
workers:
Ing. Bohumil Honzík, PhD., Ing. Lukáš Kopečný, Ing. Tomáš Neužil, Ing. Luděk Žalud

Machine perception group
This
group is interested in the development and implementation of the
fast hardware for image processing and image recognition which is
based on parallel DSP C6000 platform from Texas Instruments. The
group applies results of the theoretical research in a production
control, quality testing and traffic monitoring.
Responsible
manager:
Doc. Ing. Jozef Honec, CSc.
Research
workers:
Ing. Petr Honec, Ing. Miroslav Mikulica, Ing. Petr Petiovský, Ing. Soběslav Valach

Automatic control group
This
group deals with the sensor-less field oriented control of AC
induction motors, with the development of robust speed - flux
estimators and with the automatic motor parameters identification.
Responsible
manager:
Prof. Ing. Petr Vavřín, DrSc.
Research workers:
Ing. Petr Blaha, PhD., Ing. Pavel Václavek, PhD.
