  • Computer Vision (master study programme) - physics (optics) of image acquisition, image processing and analysis, objects detection and shape reconstruction.
  • Recognition (master study programme) - advanced techniques of computer vision, object recognition and tracking.
  • Machine Learning (master study programme) - machine learning concepts, supervised/unsupervised/semi-supervised learning.

History:

History of the Machine Vision Group dates back to 1989, when first experiments with image acquisition and processing were realized (led by Assoc. Prof. Honec). As a matter of form Group of Computer Vision was established in 1991 when teaching and research activities were started in a newly built-up computer vision laboratory.

Nowadays, the Machine Vision Group at the Brno University of Technology is a significant player in machine vision of industrial and traffic systems. MVG team is primarily interested in the applied research, for example in domains of exact industrial measuring, three-dimensional shape reconstruction, stereo photogrammetry, autonomous traffic systems, shape and motion analysis, object recognition and many other parts in machine vision area. MVG is also successful group in research and implementation of autonomous industrial and traffic vision systems.
