Prof. Halang from the FernUniversität Hagen, Faculty of Electrical
Engineering visited our Department of Control and Instrumentation (UAMT) under Socrates
program, between August 27 to August 31, 2001. Prof. Halang is the chairman of department
of IT that is mainly focused on the real-time automation systems. He has performed two
lectures during his visit here.
The first lecture was dedicated to the Real-Time Opearting System
Principles and description of programming and task execution methods, multitasking,
task synchronisation and communication.
The second lecture dealt with Safety critical Real-Time Systems and
problems of safety related real time software. There were mentioned the role of the
human component, safety integrity levels and software construction and higher and lower
safety requirements.
Participants of these two lectures were PhD students and teachers both
the department UAMT and UIVT. Safety related software is in the focus of scientific activities
of Prof. Halang and participants could profit from his experiences of his scientific results.
This action proved good possibilities of the Socrates program in the section
of the lecture activities of the foreign specialist at the partnership universities.
