Title: Traffic simulator TRASI
Result category:
Project: Car transport safety
Publication year:

The TRASI traffic simulator is a mikroskopic simulator with integrated Car2X communications. It is designed for simulations of intelligent traffic systems (ITS) applications.

The main reason for development of a new simulator (TRASI – TRAffic SImulator) when other simulators exist is the need for an integrated approach combining both traffic and communication simulation. The combination of traffic and communication simulation is important for simulating ITS applications. The simulator needs to be simple enough to enable large-scale simulations of urban areas. Some simulators have separate interface to control the simulation and enabling interconnection with a network simulator such as ns2 (for example the SUMO simulator has a TraCI interface), but this is not convenient for simulating more complex ITS applications. The TRASI simulator is microscopic simulator and it is based on multi-agent approach.
